I Want Pie for Christmas

Some of you may know that next fall I will be attending Shimer College in Chicago, Illinois (the 's' is silent). Consequently, this is my last Christmas as a homeschooling kid. It is my last Christmas free from the worries of the adult world.

You can imagine my horror, then, when I discovered that my family will not be serving pie at the annual Christmas Eve festivities...Can you believe that such a travesty is possible? What's Christmas without pie? Huh? Someone tell me!

Without pie no holiday is complete. Thus, I am not complete. How can I celebrate without my glorious, succulent pumpkin pie? Hm? Can my family really expect me to feel good about eating cupcakes and cookies instead of pie? These inferior baked goods cannot compare with such an awe-inspiringly phenomenal pastry.

But my cries have been cried to no avail. No pie shall be served. Thus, my soul crumbles, and my mind dissolves into a pile of sugarplums.

Happy Holidays.
